"Texas Burmese Cats"
is an "in-the-home" breeder of "Virginia Deal"
bloodline of Burmese cats. That is, our kittens all
receive attention from a human being
throughout their early life. They are
descendants from recognized and
highly respected Burmese lineage.

We have two sires
(intact male cat) who happen to carry the rare lilac
& champagne colors of the Burmese breed.
Their mother was a lavender champion Burmese.

"Apollo" (one of these two sires) fathered
the litter of kittens featured on this web site.

About Us

We saw our first Burmese kitten years ago. We waited in line for 11 months to get our first little girl. We learned early that they are true people cats. I am allergic to cats but we were assured that this breed is almost hypo-allergenic. Well I have been sleeping with three of them for years and I am a true believer in the no cat dander theory. We also have very little shedding in the house and the brown matches most of my husbands suits so we appreciate that fact also. They can think, they can conjure up all kinds of frolicking escapades. Since my job requires me to travel several days a month, I find I have to spend at least a few sentences to see how my husband is till I am brave enough to ask about each kitty. Many of them fetch like dogs and have a great time with their show and tell antics.

I am most enthralled at how long they live. It seems the average age for females is around 15. Males usually live a little longer as long as owners are careful about the kind of dry cat food they feed to their males. Gus, the oldest Hill Country Farm male just recently passed on at the age of 20 years. His kitty wife, Sissy, is still alive at 17 years and their daughter, Baby Ruth is 15. My daughter has had this Burmese family for many fun filled years.

The most interesting story about these wonderful Burmese cats is that I am blessed to be placing little kittens with third generation family members. What a thrill it is to see the look on a new grandchild's face with their first kitten and mom and grandma standing there with tears streaming down their faces.

Once you have a Burmese kitten
you will always have a Burmese cat.
